Humane Voters Oregon has endorsed candidates running for the Oregon Senate and House of Representatives. See the full lists of our endorsed candidates here. Our endorsements are based on:
A candidate's answers on our questionnaire, which asked about coyote-killing contests, exotic animals as pets, animal trapping, factory farms and shelter-pet adoption.
A candidate's voting record on issues affecting animals if the candidate has served in previous sessions of the legislature.
Our personal familiarity with the candidate and the candidate's views on animal welfare.
If we endorsed a candidate in your House or Senate district, please take a moment to congratulate them, thank them for supporting animal welfare, and tell them that animal welfare and our endorsement are meaningful to you. You can find a candidate's campaign email (the one to use for this) by clicking on the candidate's last name in our endorsement lists. There is also a link at the top of our endorsement lists to tell you what House and Senate districts you are in if you don't know already.
Please also help us support these candidates in their elections. We use your donations to our political action committee, Humane Voters Oregon PAC, to support endorsed candidates. You can also volunteer for an endorsed candidate's campaign in the name of animal welfare by letting us know you are interested in doing that. Just send an email to info@humanevotersoregon.org with "Campaign Volunteer" in the subject line.
Thank you for helping us promote animal welfare in Oregon's political process and elections!
